Okay here it is.... My first 90 day challenge completed.... My name is Carolynn and I almost want to CRY!!!!! It's what you eat, not where you keep it that contributes to weight gain, right? Yes and no. The way you've organized your kitchen can make all the difference with your stay-slim plan. Samantha Cassetty, MS, RD, Good Housekeeping Research Institute's nutrition director, shares how your current setup may not support your healthy-eating goals.
1. The Cookie Jar Is on the Countertop
Leaving a container loaded with treats in plain sight provides unrestricted access to what should remain an occasional indulgence. Clear containers tempt a sweet tooth even more.
Instead: Replace the jar of sugary goodies with a bowl of whole fruits such as apples, oranges, or bananas to encourage healthier snacking. Keep junk food out of sight and in a hard-to-reach location to dissuade unhealthy munching, says Cassetty.
2. You Pack Snacks in Sandwich-Size Baggies
Large plastic baggies are helpful when packing a sandwich for lunch, but they aren't doing your waistline any favors when it comes to snacks. "Filling a sandwich bag with nuts might mean noshing on a whopping 1,000 calories!" Cassetty warns.
Instead: Stock your pantry with snack-size bags for portioning an appropriate amount of on-the-go goodies. For nuts, an 125-calorie diet-friendly portion equals 18 almonds, 20 peanuts, or 30 pistachios.

3. Your Plates & Glasses Are Too Large
Larger platter sizes contribute to over-serving and overeating, according to a 2012 study in theJournal of Consumer Research. Steer clear of oversized wine glasses as well, says Cassetty. In a Good Housekeeping Research Institute study, testers poured themselves the perfect amount -- 5 ounces -- when equipped with a smaller stem. But when pouring into a larger glass, almost half of the group gave themselves 2 ounces more on average -- that's the equivalent of 50 extra calories!
Instead: Use a 9- or 10-inch salad dish to plate your food, and stick with a 10- or 12-inch wine goblet -- a little larger than a champagne flute and way smaller than the fish-bowl size glass you find at many restaurants.
4. Your Plates Aren't Colorful Enough
Top chefs aren't the only ones who should care about how their meals looks plated. According to a 2012 study in the Journal of Consumer Research, diners who used plates that were a similar color as their meal ended up serving themselves more food than participants with more colorful dishes.
Instead: Invest in red dinnerware, which can reduce calorie intake by 40%, according to researchers. Red plates and cups can also lead you to have less snacks and soft drinks, according to a 2012 study in the journal Appetite. "If you aren't in the market for new dishes, try setting the table with a red tablecloth or placemats instead," suggests Cassetty.
5. You're Hiding Your Produce
You can easily forget about fruit and veggies by stashing them at the back of your fridge or in opaque crisper drawers. Keeping them there too long leads to spoiled food and wasted money.
Instead: Prepare salads ahead of time and store them at the front of your fridge, so fresh veggies remain a priority, says Cassetty. If you have room in your grocery budget for the extra expense, save the time and effort required for chopping and cleaning fresh produce and buy them precut and prewashed. "I'm a busy working mom so these cheats allow my son and me to eat healthfully and spend extra time together," she says.
6. Your Kitchen Is Disorganized
If food prep isn't easy or you can't find certain pans or ingredients, you may be tempted to call for takeout -- and that's going to impede your healthy-eating plan, says Cassetty.
Instead: Make sure your cookware and go-to ingredients are readily available and easy to find. "A food processor can make quick work out of chopping onions and julienning veggies, but if you relegate it to the back of the cupboard, you may wind up underusing it," says Cassetty. "I also give valuable counter space to my indoor grill -- perfect for making chicken, fish, and even veggies with very little added oil."
7. You're Not Planning Meals in Advance
When you have a mile-long to-do list, finding time to plan the first steps of dinner prep can be tough. Realizing you forgot to defrost the chicken for tonight's dish can derail a meal and your diet -- especially if you order in Chinese or hit the supermarket's buffet counter.
Instead: Set reminders in your smartphone, so you don't forget to remove meat from the freezer or to pick up lemons on your way home from work. "Isn't it called a smartphone for a reason? I'm pretty sure it's because it can outsmart busy people," jokes Cassetty. "I can't tell you how many times this has saved me." If you're not into high-tech to-do lists, there are always old-fashioned sticky notes -- leave them on your refrigerator door, cabinets you open frequently or other kitchen spots you might hit on a busy morning.

So finally got up the courage to post this in my group tonight! I had been putting it off because I didn't think you could see much difference but I am sure glad I went ahead and took my picture tonight, I needed to extra motivation.

I am a 28 year old mother of 2 that suffers from severe PCOS. I am a slow loser compared to some but definitely happy with my journey so far. Since I started taking Skinny Fiber at the end of May, I have lost 25lbs and over 20". I work nights and don't sleep during the day much because I am home with my 2 little ones. I know my metabolism is slow and there are many days that I would just eat to stay awake. Skinny Fiber has helped to cut down on my snacking, my cravings and my portion sizes. This is my first 90 Day Challenge! I am happy to report I have lost 9lbs and 14 1/2 inches! I have gone down 1 pant size...and its baggy! I feel so much better than before! The first 60 days I was really good, cut out cokes and only had water, increased my fruits and veggies...even exercised a bit! This last month has been a bit busy, family staying with us and a week in Florida, 2 weekends away, and birthdays! I HAD BEEN TRYING TO LOSE THIS WEIGHT OFF AND ON FOR YEARS. I NOW FINALLY MADE MY MIND UP WHEN I SAW A CHANCE TO WIN A BOTTLE OF SKINNY FIBER THAT MONTH OF SEPTEMBER. I DIDN'T THINK I WAS DOING THAT GOOD BECAUSE I FOUND OUT THAT MOST OF MY MEDS CAUSE WEIGHT GAIN. I COULD NOT SEE IT WHEN I LOOKED IN THE MIRROR. FELT LIKE I WAS UP AGAINST A WALL. I WOULD GET SO FRUSTRATED THAT I WOULD CRY AT TIMES AND WANTED TO JUST GIVE UP. THEN I DECIDED TO TAKE MY MEASUREMENTS AND WEIGH IN.

WELL I MUST BE TOO HARD ON MYSELF BECAUSE I WENT FROM 133 LBS TO 123 LBS , AND I WILL SHARE MY MEASUREMENTS TAKEN FROM SEPTEMBER. THEY WERE ....BUST 40.....WAIST 42 1/2.....AND HIPS 44 ............. NOW THE MEASUREMENTS ARE..BUST.38.....WAIST 35 1/2.....HIPS 40 3/4. I WILL TELL YOU, I WAS WEARING SIZE I8 CLOTHES. I AM NOT SURE WHAT SIZE I WEAR NOW, BUT THEY ARE WAY TOO BIG. I STILL HAVE A LONG WAY TOO GO BUT I FEEL ,LIKE I CAN GET THERE!!

DONT LAUGH, BUT I WANT TO BE A SIZE 9.

Macaroni and Cheese Casserole

Yield: 6-9 servings
2 cups dry elbow pasta, cooked
1 cup chopped kale (or substitute spinach)
1 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp oil
3 Tbsp flour
¼ cup chopped green pepper
1 Tbsp dehydrated onion flakes
1 clove garlic, minced
¼ tsp dry dill weed
½ tsp red pepper flakes
½ tsp seasoning salt
1 carrot, diced
2 cups skim milk
1 ¼ cup cheese (equal parts cheddar and mozzarella + ¼ cup parm)
1 ½ c cooked turkey / chicken, diced or shredded
½ cup green peas, frozen
7-8 saltine crackers

Preheat oven to 350° F. Cook pasta and kale in boiling water til al dente – meanwhile, heat butter and oil in a sauce pan. Add flour, green pepper, onion flakes, garlic, dill and red pepper flakes. Stir and cook for a couple of minutes. Add seasoning salt, carrot and milk. Whisk until smooth and allow to thicken, stirring occasionally. Add cheese and stir to combine. If mixture is too thick, add a little pasta water to thin to ‘cream of soup’ consistency. Add turkey, stir – add peas, stir and place in an 8x8 cooking dish. Top with crushed saltine crackers. Cook for 15 minutes or til lightly browned on the top ~ My son calls this “Wow Mac n Cheese”… either name will work!

Meet Janie

My name is Janie:
Here's my most recent update!! I have a long ways to go, but I've come pretty far already. 6 months ago, I began an amazing journey. Full of ups and downs and some irritation, but I'm a better person because of this journey. Skinny Fiber and Skinny Body Care have changed my life. I know I say this over and over and some of you are probably sick of hearing it, but this company and it's products are AMAZING. I wouldn't be where I am right now, if it wasn't for Skinny Fiber and My amazing family at SBC!!! Not only have I lost weight and inches, but my hormones are finally regulated and NORMAL!!!(this is a HUGE DEAL especially since I'm trying to conceive) my blood pressure is under control(I had high blood pressure due to stress), my cravings for sweets have subsided. This is me Marsha, today is the end of my first 30 days of my 90 day Challenge and I'm proud to announce I'm down 22 lbs and 23.2 accumulated inches! Skinny Fiber has truly been a blessing to me! It has done for me in just the first 7 days what prescription drugs couldn't do for me the last 8 months! Before taking skinny fiber I was only able to stand literally 3 minutes at a time. I was diagnosed with arthritis of the spine that leads to my tail bone. Was on a couple different pain pills one being for arthritis and it only made it worse it felt like someone was tearing out my spine. I applied for disability back in June ...and got denied at the end of September. And started skinny fiber OCT 7, 2013. after 7 days I was walking like nothing ever happened! So I didn't bother appealing. When I applied it was because I knew no one would want to hire someone that couldn't stand for more than 3 minutes and I came from fast-food was an assistant manger there's no sitting in fast-food! Couldn't lift much maybe 5 pounds at best and sitting for to long wasn't fun either 7 days in I decided I wouldn't appeal what was holding me back is no longer an issue. Then I noticed I wasn't having any IBS symptoms so I stopped taking those meds as I no longer need them. I even started taking 20 minute walks this past Sunday and plan on doing that 5 days a week and each week shoot for longer. Though I must say the 20 minutes walk didn't even bother me the first day no cramps no pains! In August I started taking sleep aids just to be able to sleep at night I haven't even needed them! I lay down and I'm out! So Yes I back Skinny Fiber 100%! 22 lbs lighter and feeling awesome! Here is my 30 day before and after picture hope this is proof enough ! I will post another in 30 days to continue to show how I'm doing on it and when this 90 day challenge is over I already plan on starting another!

Smoothi/Drink Recipes



ORIGINAL RECIPE

1 1/2 cup coconut milk
1/2 avocado
1 1/2 cup kale
1 tbsp chia seed
1 tbsp olive leaf extract
1 scoop green vibrance
2-3 ice cubes
Stevia to taste

Add coconut milk 1st and then the rest, so they blend up well and don't stick. Blend on high and long so that it is not too thick.

* You can add berries or banana to lighten up the greens. This smoothie has more vitamins and nutrients than we could eat in one day ... it is not for the weak  The plus is that you will feel super charged and full for a long time.

Ingredients:
1 Greek Yogurt (Vanilla)
1 Banana
1 cup of Almond Milk (vanilla)
2 1/2 cups frozen Strawberries

Blend All together and ENJOY

You can take Skinny Fiber in different doses at the times of the day that suit you best.  It is recommended that you take 2 Skinny Fiber capsules, twice daily, 30 minutes before your 2 largest meals of the day – typically lunch and evening meal.  However, we are all different and some people will find that a larger dose of 2 capsules 3 times a day or 3 capsules twice a day will make a huge difference to their results.  Here are some suggested routines:

4 capsules a day:
2 x capsules before lunch and 2 x capsules before dinner

6 capsules a day:
3 x capsules first thing in the morning and 3 x capsules early evening or
2 x capsules before breakfast, 2 x capsules before lunch and 2 x capsules before dinner

You can alter the times that you take Skinny Fiber to suit you.  For example, if you are very hungry mid-morning and mid-afternoon then take yours then.  If you are a late night snacker, take your dose mid-evening to curb those cravings.  The important thing is to be consistent and make sure you take them regularly every day.

How should I take Skinny Fiber?

With plenty of water!  This is a fiber product so you may experience bloating if you are not drinking enough water with it.  Ensure your water intake is at least 2 litres a day or even more if you can manage it. I can't stress how effective this is as many of us don't get our required intake of water even without taking the extra fiber.  Many people find taking the capsules with lukewarm water and lemon first thing in the morning also boosts their results (please make sure the water is lukewarm and not hot so that the capsules don’t dissolve in your mouth).

Does everyone experience a detox effect?

Depending on your current state of health and the number of capsules you take, you may experience different levels of detox when you first start taking Skinny Fiber.  Some people need to go through this detox stage before they start to see the weight coming off.  Skinny Fiber works hard to improve your health from the inside out.  Just keep up the high water intake you will soon start seeing the benefits.

How long does it take Skinny Fiber to work?

Skinny Fiber is not a quick fix weight loss product and it can take several weeks to start seeing results for some people.  This is perfectly normal and varies from person to person depending on your state of health before you started taking Skinny Fiber.  If you have digestion problems or other underlying health issues, it will take a while to restore your body’s balance.  Fat can be stored as a way of protecting the body and once your overall health improves, the weight loss will follow.

I still feel hungry even when I take Skinny Fiber as directed, what should I do?

This may be happening for a couple of reasons.  Firstly, you may be dehydrated.  Dehydration can cause us to feel a false hunger and since you are taking a fiber supplement it is even more important to ensure you have plenty of water / fluids.  Drinking plenty of water will ensure that the Glucomannan expands to full capacity in your stomach.

Another reason is that your digestive health may not be good when you first start taking Skinny Fiber.  Be patient and be consistent, every day this supplement is having a positive effect on your health and once more healing has taken place, your appetite should reduce and you should start to see your weight dropping.

How is it possible that 93-year-old Jon Mendes was able to compete in the New York City marathon on Sunday, but people decades younger couldn't dream of running 26.2 miles? Perhaps the near-centenarian’s "fitness age" hasn’t incereased at the same rate as his senior citizen status indicates. So how do you defy the logic of aging when you’re secretly trapped in a teenager’s body (or vice versa)? Pretty easily, in fact. 

If you find yourself in a "Freaky Friday" kind of situation and want to turn back the hands of time, here are some tips from top fitness instructor Kimberly Neumann of Equinox: 

  • Just do it. “One of the top excuses for not working out is just not having enough time. People don’t realize how much fitness they can pack in their day.” She suggests making substitutions: Instead of sipping on a highly caloric latte for a pick-me-up during a midafternoon break, run up and down the stairs at work.  “You’d be surprised at the energy boost,” she says.
  • Up the ante. Increase the intensity of your workout by sweating and pushing yourself a little more. “Frequency and intensity are two variables that you have within your capability to alter.” Don’t think your body can stand one more second on the treadmill? Just remember 93-year-old marathoner Mr. Mendes...
